Welcome to Dhaba, a place where food brings people together.
In India, Dhabas line the roadsides, serving fresh curries to the common man and woman. They are simple and honest, a tent to cover pots perched above open fire, surrounded by tables and crowds. Dhaba is a place for locals and visitors alike, to share delicious Indian food as well as stories, laughs and our cultures. The ritual of gathering around food is a huge part of Indian culture where it is always an honour to serve a guest.
Chef Amar is the man behind the pots, has stated his journey as a chef from India. After successfully running Dhaba at the mill and Horn Please Melbourne ,now he opened Don’t tell Aunty in October 2018 with chef Jessi Singh in Sydney.
Along with the restaurants, there is the Dhaba Food Truck in Mount Macedon and Gisborne serving take away. The Dhaba Food Truck also caters large private, corporate and community functions, parties and weddings. We love getting out in our trucks as nourishing our community roadside is exactly what a true Indian Dhaba is!
Dhaba at the Mill has also been applauded by Australian Good Food Guide ,Cheap Eats , Broadsheet Melboune, The Herald sun, The Age.
So, expect something new to try whenever you visit!
We look forward to sharing a meal with you, The Dhaba team
