Dhaba's food is like something you might be served in one of our North Indian villages, simple and honest. It can also be a subtle mix of North and South Indian flavours, a bit interesting and different. Whatever it is when you visit, it has been made in the hospitality spirit of India where it is always an honour to feed a guest.
There is Dhaba at the Mill Restaurant on Piper Street, Kyneton where you can dine in or take away your food. The atmosphere is festive and casual. Then there is the Dhaba Food Van in Woodend. Mount Macedon and Gisborne serving take away. There is also the Dhaba Food Truck that roams the streets of Melbourne and it's locations/service times are communicated via Twitter & Facebook. The Dhaba Food Truck also caters large private, corporate and community functions, parties and weddings. We love getting out in our trucks as nourishing our community roadside is exactly what a true Indian dhaba is!
DHABA at the Mill and the DHABA Food Trucks have a shared menu. It is small so that it can be as fresh and local as possible...our beef comes from Bendigo, our lamb from Kyneton and the chicken is always free-range. The menu changes reguarly but the structure is constant. There are always a bunch of entrees and always about six curries...three to four meat ones (and sometimes fish) and two but more often three, vegetarian curries. Most of our menu is gluten free. And of course, there is always our Indian flat breads, basmati rice and desserts. So, expect something new to try whenever you visit!
